Automatic sliding and swing driveway gates for Sydney homes. Supply, install, motor and intercom in one package.
A quality automatic driveway gate adds security, convenience and street appeal to any Sydney home. Fencing and Landscaping Experts supplies and installs driveway gates across Greater Sydney — from compact single-leaf swing gates for narrow terrace driveways in the inner west, to 6m wide double sliding gates for estate homes in the Hills District and Macarthur region.
Our driveway gate packages include everything: gate panel fabrication or supply, post installation with concrete footings, motor fitting and wiring by a licensed electrician, safety sensors, two remote controls and commissioning. Optionally, we can add a keypad, video intercom, pedestrian swing gate alongside the main driveway gate, or a solar power kit for remote gate posts.
We specialise in aluminium driveway gates powder-coated in Colorbond colours — the most durable and low-maintenance option for Sydney's climate. All driveway gates come with a 12-month workmanship warranty and optional annual maintenance service. Call 0492 879 796 for a free Sydney site inspection and quote.
Every gate is made to measure for your opening, matched to your fence, and available manual or automated.
Run parallel to the fence on a ground track or cantilever system. The best choice for sloped driveways and short setbacks, and the most popular driveway gate style across Sydney at 5–6m double-car widths.
Best for: Sloped driveways, wide openings, short setbacks
Single or double leaves on heavy-duty hinges — the classic look for level driveways with room for the swing arc. Double swing gates split wide openings into two balanced leaves.
Best for: Level driveways, traditional frontages, budget builds
Sliding or swing gates motorised with FAAC or BFT systems — remotes, keypad or intercom entry, safety sensors and manual release included, wired by a licensed electrician.
Best for: Daily-use driveways, security, convenience
Powder-coated aluminium in any Colorbond colour is our standard for Sydney — no rust, no repainting. Slat, flat bar, picket and timber-look profiles matched to your existing fence.
Best for: Colour-matching fences, coastal suburbs, low maintenance
The single biggest decision for a Sydney driveway gate is sliding or swing, and the driveway itself usually makes the call. A sliding gate needs run-back room along the fence line at least equal to the opening width, but it handles slopes, keeps the full driveway depth usable and suits the short setbacks common in newer estates. A swing gate needs a clear arc — roughly the gate width — in front of or behind the opening, which rules it out where the driveway rises steeply from the street or where cars park close to the gate line.
Drainage and power matter too. Sliding gate tracks need a level, well-drained run so leaves and stormwater don't foul the track — on steep Hills District blocks we often specify a cantilever slider that clears the ground entirely. For automation, we run conduit to the nearest power point during installation, or fit a solar kit where the gate post is a long way from the house.
If you're not sure, don't guess — the free site visit settles it. We measure the opening, check the fall of the driveway, and recommend the configuration that will run reliably for the next two decades.
Most driveway gates we install in Sydney are automated from day one — and older manual gates can usually be retrofitted. We fit FAAC and BFT motor systems sized to the gate weight and duty cycle, with two remotes, photoelectric safety sensors and a key-operated manual release as standard. Entry options extend to wireless keypads, smartphone control and video intercoms that release the gate from inside the house.
All wiring is completed by a licensed electrician and every motor is commissioned with its safety devices tested before handover. For gate posts far from mains power, solar kits with battery storage keep the gate running without trenching cable across the yard.
Gate, posts, motor, wiring, sensors and remotes — everything in one price.
Powder-coated to match any Colorbond fence — exact colour match guaranteed.
Most residential driveway gate installations completed within 1–2 days.
The most popular driveway gate in Sydney is the double aluminium sliding gate. It suits Sydney's wide driveways (5–6m), doesn't require swing clearance, works on sloped driveways, and is available in all Colorbond colours. Most of our installations use a FAAC or BFT motor in Monument or Ironstone.
A sliding driveway gate runs parallel to the fence on a track and needs a run-back space equal to the gate width. A swing gate opens on hinges and needs clearance space in front or behind. Sliding gates work better on sloped driveways. Swing gates are slightly cheaper for smaller openings. We assess which suits your Sydney driveway during the free site visit.
A single-car driveway gate typically needs to be 3–3.5m wide for comfortable vehicle clearance. A double-car driveway gate is usually 5–6m wide. We measure your opening on-site and add a small clearance gap to prevent rubbing. For double gates, we split the opening into two equal leaves for a balanced look.
Yes. We powder-coat all aluminium gates to match any Colorbond colour. For timber or rendered brick fences, we bring colour swatches to the site visit. We also match the panel style — flat bar, slat or picket — to your existing fencing profile.
A quality powder-coated aluminium driveway gate should last 15–25 years in Sydney. The gate motor typically lasts 8–12 years with regular servicing. Coastal properties within 3km of the ocean should plan for a motor service every 2 years and a gate inspection every 5 years.
Every automatic gate we install has a key-operated manual release on the motor, so the gate can be pushed open by hand in a blackout. Battery backup kits cover short outages, and solar kits with storage suit gate posts far from mains power.
A standard residential driveway gate within an existing fence line is generally exempt development in NSW, subject to the fence height limits for your zone. Corner blocks, heritage areas and over-height gates can need approval — we flag any approval question at the free site visit.
