Automatic Gate Installation

A complete automatic gate installation includes: (1) free site measurement and council planning advice; (2) gate panel fabrication in aluminium, powder-coated to your Colorbond colour; (3) post installation with concrete footings; (4) motor supply, fitting and wiring by a licensed electrician; (5) safety-edge sensor installation; (6) access control setup (remotes, keypad or intercom); and (7) full commissioning and testing.

Before installation, clear the driveway area of vehicles, locate any underground services near post positions (call Dial Before You Dig on 1100 if unsure), and confirm whether 240V power is already run to the gate area. If not, our licensed electrician will trench the cable from your switchboard as part of the installation.

For a standard residential driveway gate (up to 400kg, up to 20 daily operations), we recommend FAAC 844 or BFT Ares for sliding gates, and FAAC 391 or BFT Kustos for swing gates. These mid-range European motors carry a 3-year warranty with local Sydney spare parts. For lighter gates or lower-frequency use, B&D is a reliable Australian-market option.

We can set posts and pour footings in light rain, but electrical wiring is done in dry conditions for safety and correct sealing. If wet weather interrupts an installation, we reschedule the electrical work for the next dry day — typically within 1–2 business days in Sydney.

Yes. All automatic gate installations come with a 12-month workmanship warranty. Motors carry their manufacturer's warranty (2–3 years for FAAC and BFT). Aluminium gate panels carry a 10-year powder coat warranty. Any workmanship issue within the warranty period is rectified at no charge.
