Crystal-clear 12mm toughened glass pool fencing installed across Bondi, Coogee, Randwick, Bronte and Maroubra. AS 1926.1-2012 compliant, fully certified,.
Sydney's Eastern Suburbs — Bondi, Coogee, Randwick, Bronte, Maroubra, Clovelly and Vaucluse — are home to some of Sydney's most beautiful residential pools. Frameless glass pool fencing is the preferred choice for homeowners in this area because it preserves unobstructed ocean and garden views while meeting the strict requirements of the NSW Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Australian Standard AS 1926.1-2012.
Our frameless glass panels are manufactured from 12mm toughened (tempered) safety glass, fitted into grade-316 marine-grade stainless steel spigots that are core-drilled and set into the pool coping or surrounding concrete. Marine-grade stainless is essential in coastal Eastern Suburbs locations where salt air can corrode inferior hardware within months. Every installation includes a self-closing, self-latching gate with the latch positioned on the pool side at 1500mm height to comply with AS 1926.1.
We handle the entire process from measure-and-quote through to the final compliance inspection and certificate. Our team is familiar with the specific pool deck styles and coping profiles common across the Eastern Suburbs — from sandstone-coped Federation pools to contemporary concrete-edge infinity pools. We advise on the best spigot placement to maintain the non-climbable zone and avoid notifiable building work that would trigger a full DA.

NSW laws, costs and installation explained
Under AS 1926.1-2012 and the NSW Swimming Pools Act 1992, pool barriers must be at least 1200mm high measured from finished ground level. The non-climbable zone on the outside must be kept clear of climbable objects for 900mm from the barrier.
Frameless glass pool fencing is quoted per metre fully installed, including 12mm toughened glass, 316 stainless steel spigots and certification. Semi-frameless options is quoted after a free site measure. Exact costs depend on gate positions, corners and site access.
A standard 20–30 linear metre frameless glass pool fence typically takes one full day to install — drilling spigots, fitting glass panels and installing the self-closing gate. Concrete curing requires an overnight wait before the fence is loaded.
Replacing or installing a compliant pool barrier is usually Exempt Development in NSW — no DA required. The completed fence must pass a compliance inspection by council or an accredited private certifier to obtain a certificate of compliance under the Swimming Pools Act 1992.
AS 1926.1-2012 requires frameless glass panels to be toughened (tempered) safety glass with a minimum 12mm thickness, marked in accordance with AS/NZS 2208. We use Grade A 12mm toughened glass as standard on all installations.
