Its 76.2mm x 12.7mm aperture size is rated Class A under Australian security standards and is the NSW Department of Education's preferred specification for school perimeters. 358 Anti-Climb Mesh Fencing in Sydney

358 mesh takes its name from its panel specification: 3" x 0.5" x 8-gauge, giving apertures of 76.2mm x 12.7mm. The openings are too narrow for fingers or boot tips, which is why the product is often called "prison mesh" and why it is the default anti-climb specification for Sydney sites where perimeter breaches carry real cost — electrical substations, data centres, rail corridors, school boundaries, logistics yards and correctional precincts.

We supply Australian-made 358 mesh panels in galvanised or PVC powder-coated finishes (black and green are the most common for schools and public sites), with matching pedestrian and vehicle gates. Panels are typically installed at 2.4m or 3.0m heights and can be topped with cranked extensions or razor tape where the risk assessment calls for it. Because the panels are welded, not woven, they cannot be unravelled with hand tools — cutting through them requires powered equipment, time and noise, which is exactly what perimeter security is designed to force.
